Trace impedance is an important consideration in designs operating at frequencies greater than 100 MHz. To facilitate the fabrication of PCBs with controlled trace impedances, JLCPCB allows customers to select target impedances (e.g., single-ended 50Ω, differential 90Ω) when placing a PCB order. After receiving your order, JLCPCB will use this information along with the data provided about their fabrication process to adjust the trace widths, spacing, and stack-up accordingly so that your PCB meets your selected target impedance.

The most important factors to provide to JLCPCB are accurate layer stack information, dielectric thickness, and copper weight. Without this information the traces you believe to have controlled impedance can only be a guess. Want to make sure you're always matching your layout? Use the impedance calculator and review to ensure it.

To reduce signal reflections, reaffirm signal integrity, and provide a high-speed signal with the intended characteristics, have JLCPCB manufacture your PCB with controlled impedance.
