Why Do So Many Designs Over-Specify Fasteners?

Many designs default to M6 or M8 fasteners.

The actual loads often don't justify them.

Larger hardware increases:

• required space

• weight

• cost

Are we over-specifying fasteners more often than we realize?🤣
