The first tip is to orient your part in the slicer so that layer lines run perpendicular to the direction of stress. For example, if a bracket will be pulled sideways, print it standing up so layers aren't pulled apart. This can triple the strength compared to a flat print.

Second, use at least 40% infill with a structural pattern like gyroid or cubic. Less infill saves plastic but creates weak points. For parts under load, consider 100% for small parts or variable infill to reinforce high-stress areas.

Third, control your printing temperature. Printing too hot can cause stringing and weak layers; too cold leads to poor adhesion. Run a temperature tower to find the sweet spot for your filament brand. Also, ensure your bed is level and clean for good first layer adhesion.

Finally, use post-processing like annealing for PLA or vapor smoothing for ABS to improve layer bonding and toughness. Annealing can increase strength by up to 40%. Just account for shrinkage.
