Mist is ideal for light cuts, finishing operations, and materials like aluminum or plastics. It provides lubrication without causing thermal shock or flooding the work zone. Great for manual machines where visibility matters, and for operations where coolant recovery is difficult.

A practical rule: flood for heavy stock removal and mist for light finishing. Start with flood when in doubt, but switching to mist can improve surface finish and reduce cleanup on certain jobs.
