When JLCPCB Doesn't Stock the Parts You Need, Consigned Parts Can Be a Great Option

I recently had a PCBA project where a few components weren't available in JLCPCB's parts library. Instead of redesigning the board or looking for alternatives, I decided to use the Consigned Parts service and ship my own components to JLCPCB for assembly.

One thing I hadn't considered was the import process. Since the parts were being shipped to China, customs clearance was required, and I didn't have a customs broker to handle it.

What impressed me was that JLCPCB's customer service reached out proactively and let me know they could assist with the customs clearance process. That made the whole experience much smoother than I expected.

If you're working with hard-to-find components, end-of-life parts, or parts you've already purchased elsewhere, the Consigned Parts service is definitely worth considering. It gave me much more flexibility, and the support throughout the process was excellent.
